Coutinho To Refuse UCL Football?
Philippe Coutinho To Refuse UEFA Champions League Football?
Brazil playmaker Philippe Coutinho could reportedly refuse to play in the UEFA Champions League for Liverpool after they denied his move to FC Barcelona.
According to Sport, the player might make the decision to not feature in UCL games for his club following his failed move to Spain.
Coutinho was heavily linked with the Spanish giants throughout the latest transfer window, but despite reportedly handing in a transfer request, he was not allowed to leave.
The player, who Neymar recently admitted was going through a tough time, is believed to be angry about the situation, which could see him refuse to take part in the European competition for the Reds.
If he does feature for Liverpool in the group stages and moves to Barca in the new year, he would not be able to feature in the latter stages of the tournament for the Spanish side as he would be cup-tied.
Coutinho has played 181 games for Liverpool since his arrival at the club in 2013, scoring 42 goals and assisting 37 strikes.
