Paul Pogba Names His Two Biggest Manchester United Role Models
French superstar Paul Pogba has named two Manchester United legends he admired the most growing up.
The 24-year-old considers Paul Scholes and Michael Carrick to be his two most notable inspirations at the Red Devils, saying the latter is someone he still takes advice from today.
"I've learned from Paul Scholes and Michael (Carrick)," Pogba told MUTV.
"I'm still learning from Michael. He is an example for me and I always look at him in training.
"I listen to his advice – every time, before a game, he comes to talk to me and he will ask me things and keep me calm.
"To be honest, he is a mentor to me and someone I look up to."
Pogba replaced Scholes in the retired midfielder's testimonial in 2011, a moment he will never forget.
"Scholesy may not be here anymore but when I was younger, I was looking at him a lot as a midfielder," he added.
"To come on for him in his testimonial as a young player was a dream come true."
Pogba, who is currently injured, has played six games across all competitionsfor United so far this season, scoring twice and assisting a further two strikes.
