Paris Saint-Germain & FC Barcelona To Battle For Premier League Star In January?
Paris Saint-Germain and FC Barcelona are reportedly set to do battle for a Premier League superstar in January.
According to Spanish publication Sport, the Ligue 1 outfit is ready to go head-to-head with the Blaugrana for Liverpool playmaker Philippe Coutinho's signature.
It has been reported that PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi would like to see the Brazilian join his fellow countrymen Neymar, Dani Alves, Thiago Silva, Lucas Moura and Marquinhos at the Parc des Princes.
The report stated that the French side's sporting director Antero Henrique and technical co-ordinator Maxwell, a former Barcelona defender, have been in contact with the midfielder's representatives over the past few weeks.
The 25-year-old, who is still believed to be at the top of the Blaugrana’s transfer wish list, has apparently been approached by PSG before, but was not interested in moving to France at the time.
Barcelona made several bids for the attacking midfielder in the latest transfer window, with the final offer said to be well over the €100 million (R1.61 billion) mark.
Coutinho has made six appearances for Liverpool this season, scoring three goals and assisting a further strike.
