Alexis Sanchez returned to the line up for the Gunners, while club-record signing Alexandre Lacazette dropped to the bench.
The Reds got off to a fiery start as the pace of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane caused a number of problems, while Peter Cech produced a good save to the Egyptian in the 10th minute.
It was the home side who broke the deadlock in the 17th minute when Roberto Firmino headed home Joe Gomez's cross.
Arsenal, meanwhile, were finding it tough to create openings for most of the opening stanza, as Sanchez and Danny Welbeck cut frustrating figures.
Liverpool managed to double their lead five minutes before the break when Mane cut inside and fired a fine low effort past Cech.
The score remained 2-0 the Reds at the halftime break.
Cech was called into action after 54 minutes as he produced a good low save to deny Salah a goal while Jordan Henderson fired over from the rebound.
However, Salah was not to be denied three minutes later, as the Egyptian dispossessed Hector Bellerin, ran over 50 yards with ball and slotted past Cech.
Wenger responded with a double change after 61 minutes as Lacazette and Olivier Giroud replaced Chamberlain and Sanchez.
Jurgen Klopp's charges continued to dominate and they bagged a fourth goal in the 77th when substitute Daniel Sturridge headed home Salah's cross at the far post.
The Gunners failed to offer anything going forward, as they failed to register a single effort on target throughout the whole game.
Nevertheless, the score remained 4-0 to Liverpool, as Arsenal suffer their second straight defeat.
