Alexandre Lacazette: I'll Ask This French Star To Join Me At Arsenal
Arsenal's most expensive signing ever, Alexandre Lacazette, hopes his friendship with a fellow France superstar will help convince the latter to join the Gunners next season.
Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann was linked with a move to the Premier League in the latest transfer window and was tipped to join Jose Mourinho's Manchester United.
Former Lyon forward Lacazette has now joked that he still plans to sit down with his good friend Griezmann to ask him if he would be interested in joining him at the Emirates.
"Yeah (Griezmann is my best mate), we are very good friends and have lots of fun," he told Match of the Day magazine.
"Our nicknames for each other are 'Griezzy' and 'Lacaz'. If 'Griezzy' visits me in London, I'm going to ask him to sign for Arsenal!"
The 26-year-old also touched on what makes the English top flight so different to Ligue 1.
"The main difference between here and France is there are a lot of very good strikers here – Harry Kane, Romelu Lukaku, Sergio Aguero, Gabriel Jesus, Jamie Vardy, Alvaro Morata. It's going to be a challenge to win the Golden Boot!" he added.
Lacazette has made eight appearances in all competitions for Arsenal so far, scoring four goals along the way.
