According to Transfermarkt, all the players in the gallery above have worn the number during their time at Old Trafford, and some were certainly more successful than others.
The most famous player to wear the iconic No. 7 for the Red Devils is probably George Best. To many, the Northern Irishman was the original rock star of football back in the 1960's. The winger was seen as one for the best players of his generation but sadly got caught up in a lot of negative off-field activities.
David Beckham is another player who made sure he wore the No. 7 with pride during his Red Devils career. The Englishman changed claimed the famous number in the 1997/98 season – before that he wore the No. 10, which is now vacant too. The 42-year-old made 380 appearances for the English giants, scoring 84 goals.
Someone who was seen as a bit of a flop at the Theatre of Dreams was Argentine star Angel Di Maria. The 29-year-old joined the club in the 2014/15 season from Real Madrid, but only lasted one year in England before moving to Paris Saint-Germain. Di Maria only made 32 appearances for United, scoring four goals and assisting 12 more strikes.
Other who wore the famous number at some point, according to Transfermarkt, include Memphis Depay, Antonio Valencia, Michael Owen, Cristiano Ronaldo, Eric Cantona, Andrei Kanchelskis, Bryan Robson, Lee Sharpe and Clayton Blackmore.
