African champions, Cameroon crashed out of the FIFA Confederations Cup, following their 3-1 loss to world champions Germany in their final Group B game.
The World Champions shaded the possession statistics in the opening stages of the first half, but they failed to create any clear-cut chances.
Germany should have taken the lead in the 23rd minute when Marvin Plattenhardt cross found Joshua Kimmich, who headed wide from six-yards out.
The best chance of the half fell to Cameroon just before the halftime break through Zambo Anguissa, but Marc-Andre Ter Stegen produced a fine save to deny the midfielder from close range.
Joachim Low's charges saw a lot of the ball in the first half, but they were unable to take advantage of their dominance, as they went into the break goalless.
Germany broke the deadlock two minutes into the second half, as Julian Draxler teed up Demirbay, who rifled the ball into the top corner from 20-yards out.
Hugo Broos responded by introducing Moumi Ngamaleu for Arnaud Djoum in the 58th minute as they pushed for an equaliser.
The Indomitable Lions were then reduced to 10 men in the 63rd minute when Ernest Mabouka was shown a straight red card for a foul on Emre Can.
Germany took advantage of the numbers game, as they doubled their lead three minutes later when Timo Werner headed home Kimmich's cross.
Cameroon pulled a goal back in the the 79th minute when Vincent Aboubakar headed home at Ter Stegen's near post.
However, the Germans sealed the win two minutes later when Werner grabbed his second by firing into the top corner from 12-yards out.
