Chile advanced to the semi-finals of the FIFA Confederations Cup, after playing out a 1-1 draw with Australia in their final Group B game.
La Roja had a chance to break the deadlock in the seventh minute as Arturo Vidal picked out Eduardo Vargas, who failed to beat Matt Ryan from close range.
Australia, meanwhile, were finding it tough to get the ball off La Roja in the opening 20 minutes, which led to a lack of chances.
The Socceroos nearly went ahead against the run of play in the 36th minute but Claudio Bravo produced a good save to deny Luongo from close range.
However, it was Australia who took the lead just before the halftime break, as James Troisi calmly lifted the ball over Bravo, after some sloppy play the Chile defence.
The South American champions opted for a double change at the start of the second half, as Pablo Hernandez and Martin Rodriguez were introduced.
The change paid off, as Chile leveled matters in the 67th minute Rodriguez fired past Ryan, after being picked out by Vargas.
Australia could have restored their lead in the 73rd minute but MacLaren managed to fired his first-time effort wide of Bravo's goal from close range.
Chile opted for another change on 82 minutes as Vargas made way for Marcelo Diaz as they pushed for a winning goal.
Both sides pushed for a winning goal, but the score remained 1-1 as the referee drew proceedings to a close.
