Serero: We Can Still Do It

Serero: We Can Still Do It

By Soccer-Laduma - Jan 21, 2013 08:04 AM

Bafana Bafana started their 2013 Africa Cup of Nations campaign on a low note, with a goalless draw against Cape Verde in the opening game of the tournament at the National Stadium on Saturday.

Following South Africa’s lackluster performance, the side’s next game is against Angola at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Wednesday, with the nation expecting a better showing.

The team flew to Durban soon after the game on Saturday night and midfielder Thulani Serero told the Siya crew that not all is lost and that they can still qualify for the quarterfinals.

He said that they must forget about the 0-0 draw against Cape Verde and focus on Wednesday’s game.

“The other two teams also played a draw in our group. We could have loved to win our first game, but since it wasn't like that, we have to go for a win against Angola now. We can still do it.

“We have two games to play and two wins can see us through in our group so we haven't lost it all. A win could have been great in the first game but we can do it now and move on," the Ajax Amsterdam player expressed.
