Modisane: Pirates Will Respect Maluti

Modisane: Pirates Will Respect Maluti

By Soccer-Laduma - Jan 15, 2013 11:57 AM

Orlando Pirates will be taking on SAFA side Maluti FET FC in the Nedbank Cup round of Last 32, as they aim to go all the way and clinch the trophy for the second time in three years.

Despite Pirates being the odds-on favourites to advance to the next round against Maluti, Bucs PRO Mickey Modisane said that they won't undermine their opponents. He said that they will need to respect their opponents as some of the players in the team are Pirates supporters.

"We really don't know the team but that doesn't mean we should look down upon them. Our players respect each and every team they play against.

“You should also know that many of the players in Maluti are Pirates supporters and it will be their opportunity to play against their heros. We will respect them but win the game," Modisane explained.

Pirates lifted the Nedbank Cup in 2011, having defeated Black Leopards 3-1 in the final. Last season they were knocked out by Free State Stars in the round of Last 16.
