Mkhonza On Trial At Swallows

Mkhonza On Trial At Swallows

By Soccer-Laduma - Jan 22, 2013 01:39 PM

Former Black Leopards defender Siphiwe Mkhonza is on trial with Moroka Swallows. Mkhonza is on the lookout for a new club after parting ways with Leopards at the end of last season.

The Springs-born player is hoping to impress coach Zeca Marques and his technical team at training as the club looks to bolster their back-line.

A reliable source within the Dobsonville-based outfit confirmed the player’s presence at the club.

“Mkhonza is training with us. The coach is looking for defenders to add to the team. He has just started and is set to be with us for a couple of days,” said the source.

Swallows recently had Thapelo Tshilo training with the team, although the former Mamelodi Sundowns player has since signed for Wits.

The Dube Birds have been in the lookout for defenders since the January transfer window opened. Timothy Batabaire and Sthembiso Ntombela are some of the players that have already trialed with the team.
