Molangoane Backs Katsande After Derby Penalty Miss

Joseph Molangoane Thinks Kaizer Chiefs' Willard Katsande Will Bounce Back

By Soccer Laduma - Mar 07, 2017 10:42 AM
Kaizer Chiefs midfielder, Joseph Molangoane, has backed his teammate Willard Katsande to bounce back from his Soweto Derby penalty miss.

The Zimbabwean failed to convert his spot kick in the dying moments of the game as Orlando Pirates’ Brighton Mhlongo got his feet to the ball to make sure that the spoils were shared between the sides.

Molangoane, who scored Chiefs’ goal in the encounter, says that they were disappointed not to win, but expects Katsande – who just signed a new long-term contract – to make up for his miss in the coming games.

Speaking to Chiefs’ official website, “I am very happy, especially scoring in a game of this magnitude where everyone is watching… Obviously I would have wanted us to get the win, but we played well as a team and showed our fans how much we wanted to win this game.

“We are playing good football. Unfortunately we could not put the game away when we had the chance to, but we played well - that’s important for us going forward.”

Regarding his teammate, ‘Tight’ said, “He’s a top player and top players bounce back. It wouldn’t surprise me if he scores a few in his next few games. I thought he played well in the game, he was just unlucky with the penalty. It is one of those things, you need the character to step up. He’ll bounce back I’m sure, he has the character and strength to come through it and play well.”

Chiefs face Stellenbosch FC in the Nedbank Cup this weekend as they look to try and progress to the Round of 16 as well as maintain their title push.

I remember reading wet dream comments from Mpanzees fans that Rats gonna get 6. Now it is different because they want to crucify Trophy-virgin Khompela for substituting George Mahluleka.

Molangoane's tap-in against Rats made him Percy Tau in Mpanzees fans' eyes.

I beg to differ with you there there Tight, Katsande was not in the game to be honest ...I'm still wondering why Steve chose to substitute Nyiko instead of Katsande ...

Bobby is very smart,Mr Oros realised that Mpanzees bribery success is over, and he joined F.A.M.E charity toy as an attempt to add to CBL and Macufe toys, for Mpanzees to stand a chance of winning a treble.

Mpanzees will only win big on the media. Take them to the field of play... Dololo trophy. They will only console themselves with charity cups.

Mpanzees are officially cupless for another season. All thanks to PSL/SAFA for suspending and keeping a close eye on Mpanzees' bought refs
