Wits are reportedly still awaiting a response from the PSL and SAFA about Kaizer Chiefs defender Morgan Gould's apparent unprovoked punch on Clever Boys striker, Getaneh Kebede.
The incident happened during Wits' 2-1 defeat to Chiefs in an Absa Premiership clash last Saturday, November 9. Wits were reportedly incensed by Gould's seemingly unexpected attack on their Ethiopian striker, and demanded that immediate and exemplary action be taken against the 30-year-old.
In Gould's defence, he later came out and apologised on Twitter for punching Kebede, however it seems Wits want further disciplinary action taken against the player. Chiefs later publicly revealed that 'internal processes' were on the go to deal with the player's transgression.
However, as it stands, Wits are yet to hear back from the PSL or SAFA about what action they may or may not take against Gould.
Wits Chief Excecutive Officer, Jose Ferreira, told the Siya crew, "I've released the press release to ask what we'd like the league and SAFA to do. As far as an apology from Gould, I haven't recieved one. I know Chiefs said they were issuing an apology to us but I haven't recieved anything.I can't say much more at this stage in the media. Letters have been written to SAFA and the PSL, a press release has been issued and now I wait."
