There’s more bad news for Bafana Bafana head coach, Gordon Igesund, after four more players were withdrawn from his squad for the COSAFA Cup.

According to Bafana’s PRO, Matlhomola Morake, four players, in Musa Bilankulu, Lance Davids, William Twala and Luyolo Nomandela, have all been withdrawn from the tournament by their respective clubs.

A source revealed that Bilankulu, Davids and Nomandela are all carrying injuries, while Twala is in camp with Orlando Pirates as they prepare for their CAF Champions League game this month.

This is the second time in the space of a week that the national team’s head coach has had to rename his squad after nine players were withdrawn from his original 20-team.

Now, in place of the quartet Igesund has called upon Vuyo Mere, Edward Manqele, Mzikayise Mashaba and Mandla Masango, to represent their country.

With just a few days left until Bafana leave for Zambia, Igesund will be hoping that his side doesn’t encounter any further setbacks.

The tournament will begin in Zambia tomorrow, with Namibia taking on Mauritius in Lusaka before Bafana play their first game on July 13th against the winner of Group A.
