The swap deal that will see Rowen Fernandez leave SuperSport United for Ajax Cape Town and Sean Roberts go the other way, is looking ever more likely.
According to Siya crew sources, while Roberts isn’t completely sold on the idea of leaving Ajax for SuperSport, the deal is likely to go through in the form of a six-month loan deal at first.
It is believed that, should the loan work out for all parties involved, then the move could be made a permanent one at the end of the season.
Roberts, who recently broke into the Urban Warriors’ first team ahead of Sander Westerveld, still has a long-term contract in the Mother City that runs until 2017, meanwhile Fernandez is contracted to Matsatsantsa until June of next year.
Sources have explained to the crew that both respective clubs are eager to do the deal and that even if the players themselves are not 100% convinced, the loan move is still expected to go through before the end of the current transfer window.
