Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas has named Welsh winger Gareth Bale as one of the "top three or four" players in Europe.
The Tottenham Hotspur star has been heavily linked with a move to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer, though Spurs have publicly stated that he is not for sale.
Spanish daily Marca has run with a front-page story suggesting that Spurs are holding out for a fee of around GBP 126 million - almost GBP 50 million more than the world record fee paid for Cristiano Ronaldo in 2009.
It is not said whether Madrid would be willing to push that far for the player, but Casillas believes Bale is certainly one of the top targets in Europe at present.
"We are talking about one of the top three or four best players in Europe and it's normal that his name is being discussed because he has all the qualities a footballer needs," he said.
"Every transfer is controversial in its own way, for better or worse, but we are speaking about a very good, decisive player.
"I'm sure we'll make another signing before the transfer window shuts."
Casillas also said that he had a good feeling about new Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti after meeting the Italian.
"I spoke to him for just five minutes and I came to the conclusion he is a winner. He makes that clear to you from the start," he added.
"Whenever a new coach comes in it's a new challenge and I'm happy about starting a new era.
"Madrid need to start winning games and trophies after last season and fight for all three competitions."
