Capello Wants England Clash

Capello Wants England Clash

By Soccer-Laduma - Jan 17, 2013 11:27 AM

Fabio Capello is itching to take on England at the World Cup in 2014.

The Italian took over as coach of the Russian national team after walking out on the Three Lions.

He has achieved instant success with the 2018 World Cup hosts, guiding them to the top of their group in pursuit of qualification for next year’s tournament in Brazil.

Capello may not have left his post as England boss on the best of terms, in the wake of his opposition to John Terry’s sacking as captain.

But speaking at the FA’s 150 year anniversary this week, Capello insisted his relationship with English football is fine.

And he says it would be exciting for him to lead Russia against his former side in Brazil.

"We are all friends now. It is was very good to come back and see the people I used to work with. I have no problems with anyone,” Capello said, according to the Daily Star.

"I still like coming back to London, I have a house here and I've been back a few times.

"You know I can't talk about what happened with England but I am enjoying my life with Russia and my hope is that we play England in Brazil at the World Cup. That would be very good, I think."
