Reports: Manchester United Approach African Superstar
Premier League giants Manchester United have reportedly identified and approached an African superstar with a view to securing his signature.
According to French newspaper L'Equipe, Jose Mourinho's club has made contact with Borussia Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang over a possible move.
The Red Devils are actively looking for a prolific goalscorer, and the Gabon international apparently fits their profile.
The 27-year-old was once again among the goals this season, netting 37 times in 44 appearances across all competitions for the Bundesliga club.
It is no secret the African would like to play for Spanish giants Real Madrid one day, but with Los Blancos said to be looking at other options, Aubameyang may need to re-evaluate his future.
Wayne Rooney and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are expected to leave the Old Trafford club at the end of the season, which will require them to strengthen their options in attack.
Atletico Madrid superstar Antoine Griezmann is considered to be Mourinho's No. 1 transfer target in the next window, but if the Frenchman decides against a move to Manchester, the Portuguese will want to have a second option to fall back on.
It is believed that AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in Aubameyang's services, although the striker is contracted with Dortmund until June 2020.
