The Portuguese tactician spent £145 million during his first window at the club, and is set to exceed this in the coming transfer period.
United executive vice chairman Ed Woodward met with the club's investors on Tuesday, and reportedly asked for a massive £200 million (R3.4 billion) to spend, according to Manchester Evening News.
Mourinho apparently wants to lure Atletico Madrid attacker Antoine Griezmann to Old Trafford, and that would require activating his £89 million (R1.5 billion) release clause.
In addition, United are said to be after £40 million (R680 million) rated Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Eric Dier, as well as Burnley defender Michael Keane, who could cost about £25 million (R425 million). Both would count as homegrown talents, which means United need to spend big on them in order to fend off interest from rival Premier League clubs.
Up front, Mourinho is also apparently eyeing Torino's Andrea Belotti, who is one of Serie A's top goalscorers with 25 strikes this season, as well as the EPL's leading scorer in Romelu Lukaku, who has netted 24 times in the league so far in this campaign. They could reportedly cost about £80 million (R1.36 billion) each.
Surprisingly, the Manchester Evening News report did not mention Real Madrid playmaker James Rodriguez, who has been heavily linked with a move to the Red Devils next season.
