Zongo Signs With Wits

The Siya crew can exclusively reveal that SuperSport United midfielder, Masibusane Zongo, has signed a loan deal with Wits for the rest of the season. The talented, but wayward player, spent the first round of the season training with United’s reserve team while trying to secure an overseas move.
Wits general manager, George Mogotsi, confirmed to the Siya crew that the South African national Under-23 player has signed a loan deal with The Students.
“We have signed him on loan until the end of the season. We have an option to buy him at the end of his loan term,” said Mogotsi.
Zongo was on the verge of signing with Blackburn Rovers in the NFD before Wits stepped in and made a decision to sign him, following the departure of Sifiso Myeni to Orlando Pirates.
His agent, Ashley Kotzin, confirmed to the Siya crew that the Rovers deal was all but done, however they decided to pull out when the opportunity with a PSL club arose.
“We had the Blackburn Rovers deal in the first division done. Basically, it was done but we thought let’s try one last PSL option and we knew that Roger de Sa always liked him so we pulled out of the Rovers deal. We are confident that Zongo will do well at Wits,” said Kotzin.
