Zuma: Bafana Will Win The Afcon
15 January 2013
South African State President, Jacob Zuma, on Tuesday met with the Bafana Bafana squad at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto, where coach Gordon Igesund held a morning training session.
With only four days left to the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations, President Zuma met the squad to render his support for their Afcon campaign. South Africa play the tournament opener on Saturday, when they take on Cape Verde at the National Stadium in Soweto.
Zuma said that he has watched the team play in the various international friendlies, and he believes they are ready for the competition. He said that the team will make the nation proud.
"I am confident that the team will make the country proud. You know what I want to do is to touch the cup, and for me to do that, Bafana has to win. We should not have problems as the team is well balanced in all departments. I know everyone in the team is confident.
“The coach, the minister and the SAFA president are all confident. You have to know that we could not be scoring in the friendly games because we were hiding our secret weapon so that the opponents couldn't see.
“Critics will always be there and you should know that some are paid to do that, but as a country, we are proud of the team and we know they will make us proud. I don't want to touch the cup because I am giving it away, but because Bafana will win it.
“I know they will win it. I am more than confident. I have never been confident before the way I am now," President Zuma expressed.

Zuma played for ANC United F.C in Robben Island,a fearsome striker by the nickname of 'mshini',Gedle used his two heads for heading crucial set-piece and would use his mkhaba and magic stick(mshini wakhe) to bulldoze the defenderz. A deadly set-piece specialist, goalkeeperz where always having troubles predicting whether he will hit it with his left, right or middle foot. Viva ZUMA
