Wits Re-Assess Mukamba
28 November 2012
Wits head coach, Antonio Lopez Habas, and his technical team are assessing Zimbabwean midfielder Denver Mukamba, with a view of adding him to their star-studded roster during the upcoming January transfer window.
Mukamba has been a long-time target for The Students, while Roger de Sa was in charge of the bench. However, the Zimbabwean international has already played under the watchful eye of Habas, when Wits lost to Kaizer Chiefs in the final of the Gauteng Cup, back in July.
Wits team manager, George Mogotsi, confirmed with the Siya crew that the 20-year-old player has been given another opportunity to prove that he can add value to Habas’ squad.
“The boy is here. He came for training with us. He arrived this week. I cannot say much about him because the coach has to decide. He is a good player. We have one slot for a foreign player but we need quality. The technical team will make a decision on him,” said Mogotsi.
Should Wits sign Mukamba, he could team up with countryman, Tinashe Nengomasha, in the midfield.

The only reason he is being assessed again is because of the animosity that exist between Habas & Roger! Mukamba passed the trials long time ago & even Habas wanted to sign him but on second thought decided against it as the player had come for trials under Roger's instructions! DEADMAN WALKING!
