Wits Complete Appolis Deal
31 January 2012
As predicted by the Siya crew, Wits have completed the signing of Daylon Appolis for the remainder of the season.
The 19-year-old winger spent the first-half of the 2011/12 campaign with SuperSport United, having signed with the senior side from the reserve team at the start of the season. Wits general manager, George Mogotsi, confirmed the club’s latest dealings with the crew.
“We have completed the loan signing of Daylon with an option to sign him. Another player we have signed is Kyle Timm, who was with Highlands Park. He is Miguel Timm’s older brother,” said Mogotsi.
Appolis is expected to play an important role in Roger de Sa’s youthful team in the second round of the season. With Sifiso Myeni having signed with Orlando Pirates, Wits will look to the likes of Appolis to fill the void left by Myeni.
