Vilakazi Excited To Face Dikwena
15 February 2012
Ajax Cape Town midfielder, Nhlanhla Vilakazi, has expressed his excitement at getting back to playing football when they face Platinum Stars tonight after what has been over two months since the club’s last competitive game.
Vilakazi was impressive in the first round of this year’s campaign and even caught the eye of Bafana Bafana coach, Pitso Mosimane, however, he is now looking to the second round and knows that it won’t be an easy feat, but he believes the Urban Warriors can definitely push on now.
The former Golden Arrows man told the Siya crew, “I’m quite excited, and we’re confident and ready for the game. We’re prepared to go and fight, we’re confident that we can push on now that we have a mix of experience and youth. I think we’re ready in all departments. We want to compete for the league title, starting with tonight. Everyone knows that the second round is difficult and we’re expecting a tough game tonight although we aren’t expecting anything from Stars, we’re just preparing to fight.”
Maarten Stekelenburg’s men currently sit in seventh place in the log, seven points off the leaders Mamelodi Sundowns, however, with a good run of form they could shorten the gap and try to close in on their league front runners.
