Tshabalala: We Want To Win For The Fans

Absa Premiership
Platinum Stars v Kaizer Chiefs
Venue: Royal Bafokeng Stadium
Time: 20h15
Channel: SuperSport4
Platinum Stars have not lost a league game since caretaker coach Calvin Johnson took over from the suspended Owen da Gama. Today, however, the Phokeng-based club will face a wounded Kaizer Chiefs outfit at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium in their league encounter.
Chiefs are on the back of a 1-0 loss to Black Leopards and in order to keep their league title hopes alive, nothing but a win will do in today’s clash.
Dikwena, on the other hand, go into the game with high spirits after their midweek showing against Santos. Stars came from a goal down to overcome their Cape-based rivals by two goals to one.
Robert Ng'ambi, Stars’ captain, told the Siya crew that they can hold on to their confidence and continue winning. The Malawian international says that the win in Cape Town boosted the morale in the camp.
"We have played five league games and we have won three and drawn two. This is a good sign that we are determined to finish in the top eight and no matter which team we play against, we are looking for the three points to keep on moving up on the log.
“We know Chiefs lost their last game and they would be dangerous playing against but we are prepared for a tough game and ready to win," he said.
Meanwhile Chiefs captain Siphiwe Tshabalala says that they have put the disappointment of losing to Leopards behind them and they are focussed on bagging the three points.
"Football is like that. You can win today and lose tomorrow or lose today and win tomorrow. We are going into this game with a focused mind wanting to win and get the three points.
“Yes, Stars are motivated with a midweek win but in football that counts for nothing. We are not thinking about the past, we are thinking about winning today. They are playing at home but for us our supporters are everywhere and we thank them for continuing to support us. We will want to win for them and for the team as well," the South African international said.
