Sundowns Return Looms For Mphahlele
10 January 2013
Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has confirmed that he wants to re-call Ramahlwe Mphahlele from University of Pretoria.
The former Moroka Swallows and South African Under-23 international is on loan at Tuks after he was deemed surplus to requirements under ex-Sundowns coach, Johan Neeskens.
It was recently reported on the Soccer-Laduma web and mobi-site that the former Bafana Bafana coach has asked to look at the players who have been sent out on loan. Mphahlele told the Siya crew that the two clubs are currently in discussions regarding his possible return to Chloorkop.
“All I know is that I’m still training with Tuks at the moment. They will sort it out themselves (management). I’m aware that Pitso wants me to go back to Sundowns. I will allow them to discuss it themselves and I will accept the decision taken. It’s between the two clubs.
“I don’t have a problem with the whole thing because I’m contracted to Sundowns and just on loan at Tuks. So, if they need me back I’ll go. Obviously, if he (Mosimane) calls me I’ll just have to go there and work hard so that I can play like I did here at Tuks.
“People were skeptical when I came to Tuks but I worked hard, grabbed my chance and I played. Even if it happens that I go to Sundowns it’s going to be the same story. I’ll work hard and try to help where I can, I don’t have a problem,” said Mphahlele.
Mphahlele has been influential in Tuks’ impressive run in their first season in the PSL. The 22-year-old has missed just one of the team’s 16 league games so far.
