Stars Sign Another Young Defender
03 February 2012
The Siya crew can reveal that Free State Stars have added another defender to their squad with the arrival of Joseph Tau from the Vodacom League.
The talented right back joins Steve Komphela’s side from the Sipho Khuse-coached Trabzon FC. Khuse told the Siya crew that he is confident that Tau will add value to Komphela’s team.
“He is a very good right back that is capable of defending and attacking at the same time. He is a leader because he was our captain for three to four seasons. Steve was initially interested in him when he was still coaching Platinum Stars. But unfortunately he left the club and the player couldn’t go at that time.
“Steve knows the boy very well and the fact that he initially wanted him during his time at Stars shows that he values his talent. I have no doubt that the player will do well at Stars under the guidance of Steve,” said Khuse.
Tau is one of two defenders that Stars recently acquired, with the other being youngster Sihle Mpuqa from Berea- Albion FC.
