Stars Part Ways With Mpangase
04 February 2013
Platinum Stars have parted ways with Phelelani Mpangase. The former Mamelodi Sundowns defender struggled for form under coach Cavin Johnson at Dikwena this season, and has subsequently been sent packing.
The Phokeng-based outfit confirmed on the club’s official website that the 29-year-old has been released.
“The club can confirm the departure of another defender, Phelelani Mpangase, who has been released from his contract after he and the club reached an amicable agreement. Mpangase arrived from SuperSport United in 2010, but has failed to feature regularly in the current campaign,” read the statement.
The Soccer-Laduma web and mobi-site had previously predicted that the player was facing a possible exit from the side. Wits had previously expressed an interest in the player, however it remains to be seen where his future lies, though it is thought that he may join up with Moroka Swallows to train.
Dikwena have also confirmed that Joshua Sauls has been loaned to Chippa United, while Sipho Nkosi has joined Blackburn Rovers for the remainder of the season.
