Stars Boss Impressed With Mweene
12 February 2012
Free State Stars chairman Mike Mokoena is happy with the performances of the club’s number one goalkeeper, Kennedy Mweene, at the African Cup of Nations underway in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.
The Zambian goalkeeper is one of the seven players in the team plying their trade in the South African PSL. He is one of the reasons the Southern African nation is in the final of the competition with the outstanding saves he’s made thus far.
“He is an outstanding goalkeeper. I watched the game (against Ghana) and I was happy with his performance. He was outstanding,” said Mokoena.
Mweene and his Zambian teammates will be involved in the final of the tournament against Ivory Coast tonight. Because of that, it is in all likelihood that the Stars captain will be unavailable for the side in their league game against SuperSport United on February 15.
“It’s unfortunate that my Kennedy won’t be available, but if that’s the case it will provide a chance for the reserve goalkeeper (Ayanda Mtshali) to play as he hasn’t played any league games,” explained Mokoena.

Clowns should buy him. They don't have a well developed and well trained goalkeeper. They usually just have a person between the goalposts
