Sosibo And Maritzburg Part Ways
11 February 2012
Maritzburg United is set to release their midfielder Calvin Sosibo, after his injury was deemed to be one that will take too long to heal.
The 26-year-old pulled his hamstring in the second half of Maritzburg’s game against Kaizer Chiefs last year and the club have decided that it is not worth retaining the left-sided midfielder.
Sosibo signed for the Pietermaritzburg-based club at the end of last season after his time in Turkey with MKE Ankaragucu SK came to an end with him experiencing financial difficulties at the club.
It took a while for the former Wits man to get his clearance for Maritzburg but was finally getting some good game time until his injury came along. Now it seems like he will have to find a new club to give him another chance at breaking into the PSL properly.
Sosibo made five consecutive starts under Ian Palmer before picking up the injury and hasn’t played since then and it is believed that he is not in new coach, Ernst Middendorp’s, plans.
