Santos To Hijack Lewis-AmaZulu Deal?

31 August 2011

Lewis

It was reported in today’s issue of Soccer-Laduma, issue number 736, that former Kaizer Chiefs striker Stanton Lewis is training with AmaZulu in the hope of impressing head coach Manqoba Mngqithi and his technical team, and ultimately securing a contract with the KwaZulu-Natal team.

Lewis is a free agent and although the transfer window closed a few hours ago, at 17h00, the player will not be affected by the close due to the fact that he is a free agent.

The 24-year-old’s deal with Chiefs expired at the end of last season and the Naturena-based club opted against renewing the contract after the player failed to establish himself in Soweto.

AmaZulu are looking for an experienced striker to replace Lehlohonolo Majoro who left for Chiefs during the off-season, however Cape-based club Santos have made enquiries into the player.

Soccer-Laduma sources have revealed that the Boebie Solomons-coached team are wanting to sign the former Ajax Cape Town maksman, however added that AmaZulu are favourites to secure his services.

@Philemseni since when is Benni a cow?Bennie is the most decorated SA player and you know it!Maybe you meant ParCOW who is a born overrated underachiever wherever he goes.As for the 10th it is only a formality for BUCS coz we'll be collecting what is rightfully ours!

Matikila, lewis was on loan to your team from ajax. What else should player loan 4?. To get more game time. Your team is cheap just admit it.
