Santos Boss In Altercation With Nooij
29 November 2012
Santos coach Mart Nooij could be lost to the club after the team’s disappointing loss to NFD rookies Milano United. The People’s Team were thrashed 3-0 by their newly-promoted neighbours in a Cape derby played at the Athlone Stadium on Wednesday night.
Sources close to the latest happenings at Santos have revealed that all was not well after the game. It is alleged that Santos boss Goolam Allie was involved in a serious altercation with his coach after the loss.
Word is that the security personnel at the stadium had to intervene in what could have led to exchange of blows by the two gentlemen after their disagreements.
“Yes, the boss was very upset. He was very pissed off, very angry. I can confirm to you that he was very angry just like some of us in the team. I think that he was upset about the results because it was very embarrassing. Come on man, Milano just got promoted from the Vodacom League (Second Division) and beat a team that got relegated from the PSL at their home ground. I don’t even know how to explain it. But we played in a way... come on man.
"I don’t blame the boss for being upset. It doesn’t have to be the boss only but even the players have to take the responsibility. Milano looked hungrier than us. For the first 30 minutes in the first half we couldn’t put passes together. We looked afraid and Milano seemed like they were the team that has just been relegated from the PSL. They put passes together. They believed in each other and saw each other on the field. They played as a team and were not afraid to try,” said the source.
The Dutch coach joined Santos earlier this year, while the team was still in the PSL, but failed on the mandate to save them from the drop after taking over the coaching reigns from Duncan Crowie in April.
Nooij was contacted for a comment on the matter but denied knowing anything about the incident.

ZAHIERM, it is not investing in his team. It is his tendencies of running after Kaizer Motaung like a small dog.He neglected his team for long!!
