Pieterse Set For Chiefs

11 January 2013

goalkeeper

South African goalkeeper, Reyaad Pieterse, will finalise a move to Kaizer Chiefs early next week after impressing during his spell in training with the club.

It was thought that the 20-year-old Nike Chance graduate was on the verge of signing for Belgian Pro League outfit, K.A.A Gent, however following a string of changes in the coaching department, it seems that the deal has fallen through.

Pieterse left Irish club, Shamrock Rovers, at the end of last season and returned to Mzansi where he trained with Wits, Orlando Pirates, and then Chiefs for an extended period as he looked to keep himself fit.

Now a Soccer-Laduma source has explained that the player has agreed terms at Naturena after impressing the club’s technical team during his short spell, and that he should complete his move early next week.

The shot-stopper will be under no illusions about the challenge ahead as he looks to break into Stuart Baxter’s first team, as he will have to usurp the likes of Bafana number one, Itumeleng Khune, and fellow youngster, Nhlanhla Khuzwayo, if he is to get himself some game time.
