Pattison To Return From Leeds
27 January 2012
Despite impressing at the club, Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder, Matty Pattison, has not done enough to secure himself a contract at Leeds United.
Pattison has been looking to get a move away from Chloorkop and has been on trial with the Yorkshire club as he attempts to earn a move back to England where he has spent most of his career.
The 25-year-old, who scored two goals in consecutive friendlies for the Lilywhites, is said to have impressed their technical director, however their coach, Simon Grayson, has cited the fact that they already have sufficient cover for him being their reason for not offering him a contract at Elland Road.
Grayson told Sky Sports, "We won't be doing anything with him. He did well for us in those few games, but we feel we already have players here in that role. He's shown a good attitude and I'm sure he'll go back to South Africa
or wherever and do well. At this moment in time we didn't quite feel he was one who could take us to where we want to go, but he's a good player, he did well over here, and he'll make a decent career."
The Siya crew contacted Paul Mitchell, of Siyavuma Sports, who is the player’s agent and he explained that while things hadn’t worked out at Leeds, there were three further strong offers on the table for the former Norwich City and Newcastle United man.
Mitchell explained, “He won’t go to Leeds, but there are three other good offers on the table that we’re looking at. We’re currently in discussions with Sundowns and until discussions with them are finished we can’t really comment any more. However, we are very hopeful that something will come to the fore.”

@ left-footer, something is wrong with one or two of your neurons. Mathew the Palooka must have done smthing terable in his past life, like killing a person or smthing. How do u explain this bad luck for such a desciplined and hard working plyer? He left England for SA in hope of playing in the World Cup. That failed. Downs see him as surplus, Leeds did not sign him. Don feel for him though, These Anglicans are too fool of themselves.
