Pattison Happy At Santos

08 February 2012

New Santos signing, Matthew Pattison, has expressed his delight at joining Santos and believes they have the quality to claw their way up the table.

While Pattison’s deal with The People’s Team was thought to be a loan move at first, the midfielder has in fact been released from The Brazilians and is officially a Santos player. He will be with the club until the end of the season, whereafter he will reevaluate his situation.

The holding midfielder told the Siya crew, “It’s a good feeling, I was getting a bit frustrated at Sundowns as there was no real reason for me to be out of the team, but now I’m happy to be here, I’m happy to be in Cape Town.

“They have got quality in the team, it’s about getting the right balance all over. They needed to strengthen the right areas and they’ve done that by bringing in my self, Nasief (Morris) and Gert (Schalkwyk). They’ve sorted out the spine, I’m sure we’ll start to push up the league.”

The former Norwich City and Newcastle United man explained that even though he had a tough time at Chloorkop in recent times, he doesn’t hold any grudges. He is however, looking forward to playing again.

He went on, “The last six months have been very frustrating, especially not knowing why I wasn’t playing but Sundowns did right by me and I did right by them, there are no hard feelings. However, I’m not a Sundowns player anymore, it gives me a chance to focus on my football again.”

Pattison had his first training session with his new teammates on Monday and is thought to be in for a starting place when the league reconvenes next week.

Wena Hiker, only 11 players can play on the field in soccer. That's the same reason the likes of Mjempu, Mayambela, Thwala, Malokase, Ndulula and etc don't/didn't play at Rats. And as for the late Gift Continental Leremi, stop talking k@@k here u monkey bcoz he died as a result of car accident so it's a vis major.
