Nthethe Hungry For Success

29 November 2012

Last Sunday Bloemfontein Celtic were without a number of key players in their 1-0 league loss to Mamelodi Sundowns at the Free State Stadium.

Coach Clinton Larsen left some of his regulars out of the loss in anticipation of Saturday’s Telkom Knockout final against the Brazilians. Players like captain Thabo Nthethe, Dominic Isaacs and Limbikani Mzava did not play, while Lerato Manzini, Lennox Bacela and Joel Mogorosi all started on the bench.

This weekend will see the two teams come head-to-head for the second time in the space of less than a week, as they fight it out for the title of 2012 TKO champions, at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.

Nthethe, a Bafana Bafana international, is expected to feature prominently for Larsen’s outfit on Saturday. The defender says that the team is hungry for success and he is anticipating a complete different ball game.

"We want the trophy. It has been a while since last we lifted a trophy. Sundowns will face a different Celtic on Saturday. We know it will be the same with them, but we want to improve on our Sunday performance and win the final.

“The guys did well on Sunday but I think it just wasn’t our day. We want to make Saturday our day by winning the Telkom Knockout," the Bafana midfielder concluded.
