Nomvethe: It’s About The Players
12 December 2012
Last campaign Moroka Swallows finished the season as the PSL runners-up and at the start of the 2012/13 season, they clinched the MTN8.
However, the Soweto-based club has struggled in the league of late and currently find themselves sat in 12th place of the log. The Zeca Marques-coached side have lost five out of their last six league outings and last recorded a victory back in October, defeating Free State Stars 1-0.
Last season’s PSL Player of the Season, Siyabonga "Bhele" Nomvethe, is out with injury while the team struggles to find form, however he insists that the coach is not to blame for the poor run of results.
He told the Siya crew that the coach does not play and that the players should take responsibility on the field.
"It is painful to see the team in the position that it is in now. I am fit now but I can only start playing in January. You know the players should step up and show that they want to win the games for the team.
“This has nothing to do with the coach. It’s about the players. The coach doesn't play so the ones who play should make it happen, and the sooner the better," Nomvethe concluded.

I like coach "LoLliBird" but I don't agree totally with Bhele on this. Yep,playas are de ones playing in de field BUT those playas playing are selected by de coach. If playas don't perform,de coach is bound 2 replace them with other competent playas. That will bring fairness & make competition healthy amongst de playas, but how do u justify the usage of a midfielder as a striker while natural strikers are warming de bench? I insist dat Cisse & Maleka 2b given ample game time like ada playas in de team. I remain a champ Swaiswai.

Up the Birdz ! Bhele i wish you speedy recovery siyaphela bo ! I support Leon but with reservation . There's a bit of responsibility that Majazana must take because some of our loses were the results of his selections . Big up to Prins for taking a hard stance . It might come back to haunt him . I'm maroooooon

For the first time in history, players will be fired instead of a coach, if Nomvete statement is anything to go by.
