No Early Exit For Vilakazi
05 February 2013
Ajax Cape Town midfielder Nhlanhla Vilakazi will remain at the club until his contract runs out at the end of June.
It was recently revealed that the former Bay United man has signed a pre-contract with fellow PSL side Maritzburg United and it had been thought that the 25-year-old could leave Ajax before the end of his deal, and join up with his new team.
However, the Team of Choice were recently informed that Vilakazi was still not fully recovered from his ankle injury and they decided that it would be better to wait until he is fully recovered, saving themselves around R100,000 in transfer fees by doing so.
There is speculation that Vilakazi could be stuck playing in the Urban Warriors’ development structure once he does recover from injury, something that will not be beneficial to his career.
