Ngcongca Confident Ahead Of Angola
23 January 2013
Anele Ngcongca believes that South Africa has got what it takes to overcome Angola tonight, when the two teams meet at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.
Both Bafana Bafana and Angola played to a goalless draw in their opening 2013 Africa Cup of Nations games, and will be looking for the victory in tonight’s Group A clash.
Ngcongca said that a win in Durban will put them in a good position to progress to the next round and elevate the morale within the team’s camp.
“We are looking forward to tonight's game. We have to take one game at a time and tonight it's Angola. All the teams in our group, including Angola, are good. We watched them on TV and they have a lot of good, experienced players.
“We learnt from the past match that we have to attack the team and open up their defence. We have to be a bit more attractive going forward and create some chances so we can score goals.
“We kept a clean sheet and we are all positive about the next match, nothing else matters more than a win. We need a win and that win will bring the confidence we need in the team to keep on going,” the Belgium-based defender concluded.

When bafana won the afcon in 96, were the players selected on form? radebe, tovey, fish, doctor, tinkler, buthelezi, mkhalele, shoes, masinga was there a time wen they were left out of the team bcos they were off form? i dnt thnk so. Why was phala selected ahead of teko, khuboni and jali?

And the other thing, u giving them too much credit mnganami, they never even kept it at the back, they hoofed it up front hoping for a goal! That is y I was so dissapointed. After that they have the audacity to say "we played well" nxaaaaa... Am proudly south african bt will never stand 4 "b.u.l.l s" mfethu..

Cnt agree wit u more @ju-ju28... That fyt we saw yesterday is what am talking abwt and de other one was that of DRC vs Ghana, they fought until they got something from the game (frm 2-0 to 2-2) altough I dnt want a draw, bt I liked their spirit. They were down and n out to some of us and still that did not deter them, they came out swinging and fought until they got a result!... We do nt need excuses today, GI picked this team, he has to know how to use them and bring out the best in them! Today like u put it so nicely mnganami we do not need "sissies" bt "soldiers"...
