Neeskens: Pirates Are Favourites

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Johan Neeskens believes Orlando Pirates will be going into the semi-final of the MTN8 as favourites when the two teams lock horns at the Orlando stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Pirates beat Sundowns in their last three meetings, two league matches and the Nedbank Cup last 32 game. However, Neeskens isn’t too worried about what happened in the past.
“I’m not going to talk about last season because I wasn’t here,” said the Dutch legend.
He further revealed that Pirates are favourites because they had more time to prepare than all the other three teams in the semi-final. This after Pirates played their league game on Tuesday night, with Sundowns, Kaizer Chiefs and Ajax Cape Town playing their games on Wednesday night.
“Of the four teams, Pirates have an advantage because they had one more day to prepare for this game but we are looking forward to it. Yes they are favourites to win but favourites can also lose,” concluded the 59 year-old mentor. The two teams meet in the two-legged semi-final on Sunday afternoon.

If he was real professional he won`t complain abt that!bt it shows that his days are numbered at sundown as he is feeling the heat!Bucs do ur job & let the coach hit the road Netherland!pls have no mercy on them especially the Dutch coach!

Anything that is associated with sundowns is a f**l... Last season they complained before the match btwn Bucs and Downs saying that Pirates were favourites because they hv been playing in the week before that game, were crying saying its been two weeks they last played a competitive match. But now the league made it a point that they are the last to play a competitive match btwn the two and they are complaining again... What do they want?

Shiminaeza , I agree with you 100%. The Positives we have drawn from this debate is that we must not believe & take everything we read from Newspapers & Google as a Gospel Truth..Back to tomorrow' game.The only weakness for us is left back. Both Mjembu & Twala don't inspire confidance. Pelembe mighty have field attacking that opposition. Our pacey & hard running midfield mighty overpower yours Moriri & Teko... Am worried about Mphela threat as well..

Shiminaeza , Our Point of Difference is 1976 league title rather than 'history of PSL clubs' . Let me give you a glue once again -Visit www.kaizerchiefs.com to find out whether Chiefs won that title. You do not believe Wikipedia more than Chiefs website ? Do you? Let me highlight it , even Soccerladuma got it all wrong in one of the issues by mentioning that Chiefs won 11 league titles !
