Mweene To Be Rested By Stars

Following Kennedy Mweene’s stupendous performances for the Zambian national team at the African Cup of Nations, the Siya crew has it on good authority that the club will allow the players to rest after the tournament.
Mweene and his Zambian teammates have had a good run in the 2012 Afcon reaching the final of the tournament which is to take place on Sunday. Stars chairman, Mike Mokoena, told the Siya crew that the former Kitwe United goal minder deserves a break after his good showing.
“For the spirit of the team, I think he needs a break. He has played many games and done well, although I know Kennedy and that he may want to continue playing. It will depend on him but in my opinion he will need a rest for a week or so. The coach will decide,” said Mokoena.
Mweene will be in action on the weekend when Zambia will be trying to make history and beat Ivory Coast in the final of this year's tournament.
