Musonda To Stay In Zambia

16 February 2012

Joseph Musonda

Golden Arrows’ Zambian African Cup of Nations hero, Joseph Musonda, will remain in Zambia for scans on an injury that he picked up during the tournament.

Musonda was part of the Chipolopolo side that overcame the odds to beat Ivory Coast in the final of this year’s Afcon final but was unlucky to pick up his injury in just the 10th minute, leaving him to watch the agonising extra-time and penalties without being able to get involved.

Abafana Besthende’s spokesman, Vusi Vilakazi, confirmed the news to the Siya crew explaining that he would return to Durban only when he is ready.

Vilakazi said, “He said that he’s got an knee injury and that he’s going for a scan on it to check out what is the problem. The scan will be in Zambia and then he’ll come back here. He was meant to be coming back next week but Zambia will be looking after him for now.”
