Mokoena On The Mend

News reaching the Siya crew is that Mamelodi Sundowns striker Lebohang Mokoena is close to finishing his rehabilitation programme, as he plans to make a comeback to the Brazilians’ first team.
The former Orlando Pirates player has been a missing cog in coach Johan Neeskens’ line-up this season, having featured in only two league outings, and the Sundowns faithful believe that the player’s presence could change the team’s fortunes around.
A source close to “Cheeseboy”, as the Diepkloof-born player is known in football circles, confirmed that he is working on his recovery.
“As far as I understand he’s got a bit of an injury and is busy with his rehab at the moment. I spoke with Lebo two days ago and he said he’s just had a bit of a knock on his hip so he hasn’t been featuring,” said the source.
Mokoena played an integral part in Neeskens’ team last season, which saw him handed a call-up to the Bafana Bafana squad under coach Pitso Mosimane.
