Modisane Sad About Hlongwane’s Passing

Orlando Pirates communications manager, Mickey Modisane, has expressed his sadness at the passing of the club’s long-serving security member Albert Hlongwane, who passed away last week after a long illness.
“It is very sad to lose such a loyal servant to the club because bra Ali was such a dedicated member of the Bucs family. He always looked after the club’s well-being, the players’ and everyone will miss him. He travelled with the club all the time and we are all saddened by his passing, especially the players who have been very close to him.
"He has worked with different generations of players here, he did the same thing with Bafana Bafana as he wasn’t just a member of Pirates security team but served the national team as well. On behalf of the team, I’d like to pass our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends, as we will always celebrate his life,” said Modisane.
The funeral arrangements have been finalised by the family and Hlongwane will be laid to rest this Saturday, 25 February, in Orange Farm. The funeral service will start at 8: am at 11421 Ext 7B in Orange farm, with the procession to Lensaria cemetery at 10 am.
