Mbenyane Recovers From Injury
05 February 2013
Chippa United’s influential striker, Andile Mbenyane, has fully recovered from his injury and is set to resume full training next week.
The Siya crew reported early last month that the striker had undergone a hernia operation after picking up a groin injury and had been ruled out for a period of six to seven weeks.
However, a source has now explained that the former Ajax Cape town youth product is well ahead of schedule and is raring to go, and hoping to be fit for when The Chilli Boys take on Free State Stars on February 13.
The 24-year-old had been in fine form for Chippa under former coach Farouk Abrahams and his new mentor, Wilfred Mugeyi, will be keen to have him ready as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, Mbenyane’s fellow striker Justice Sithole has left the club after being deemed surplus to requirements and is said to have been spotted at FC Cape Town, where he is hoping to land himself a contract.
