Maritzburg Sign Malajila
20 January 2012
The Siya crew can confirm that Maritzburg United have concluded the signing of Cuthbert Malajila after the player impressed at training. The Zimbabwean striker is expected to add depth to Ernst Middendorp’s striking force in the latter part of the season.
The player’s agent, Gibson Mahachi, confirmed that negotiations between the player and the KZN side ran smoothly.
“It’s a done deal and Cuthbert Malajila has signed a four-year contract with Maritzburg United and we are happy about the deal,” said Mahachi.
The 26-year-old player was previously on the books of Zimbabwean club Dynamos. Middendorp, who has been given a mandate to guide the side to a top eight finish at the end of the season, will be hoping that Malajila can help him reach his objectives.
The Team of Choice returns to Absa Premiership action against Wits on February 15, when the league resumes.
