Machaka Urges Fans To Behave
07 December 2012
Kaizer Chiefs’ prominent supporter, Masilo Machaka, has urged football fans to behave themselves and make the Soweto derby on Saturday one to remember for years to come.
Chiefs will be hosted by Orlando Pirates at the FNB Stadium this weekend in what could be one of the best games of the season.
The Amakhosi are still on top of the PSL log, however have Bucs breathing down their necks in second position with a three-point difference between the two sides.
Stuart Baxter’s troops come into the game on the back of an impressive 3-0 win over Ajax Cape Town on Tuesday while Roger de Sa’s men were held in a 0-0 stalemate by PSL rookies, Chippa United, on Wednesday night.
“We have been preparing for this derby for a long time. A derby like this doesn’t come often. Some of the Chiefs fans from as far as Cape Town, Durban and PE have already arrived in Jo’burg for the much-anticipated derby. So, today (Friday) it’s going to be a night vision for us in anticipation of the game tomorrow. We are burning like the real fire this season. We are not looking at the current form of the two teams because that doesn’t work in a derby. It’s going to be a different ball game. I hear they are happy that (Benni) McCarthy is back and have their hopes on him to help them against Kaizer Chiefs. But I want to warn them that they will be disappointed. Mbesuma is a former Chiefs player and we know what he can do. We’ve got guys like (Mulomowandau) Mathoho who are capable of stopping them. I must advise that a fan should remain a fan and know his or her role. They mustn’t try to become coaches overnight. I urge them to behave. They must be at the stadium on time so that there won’t be pushing of one another at the gates because there will be a lot of people there. They mustn’t drink and go to the stadium,” said Machaka.
