Leal: Points Were Most Important
16 February 2012
Orlando Pirates coach Julio Leal admits that it was not their most impressive performance but believes that the most important thing was the points after they beat Black Leopards 1-0 on Wednesday.
The Sea Robbers got off to an energetic start and saw Thulasizwe Mbuyane open the scoring in the seventh minute. The game slowly changed though, with Pirates looking tired and lacking creativity.
Leal says that he expected that in their first game after a lengthy break, but was happy to come out of the game with points and no injuries.
"Our opponents did well, the game was good," said Leal.
"It was the first official game, despite playing four friendly matches. But the official games, there is stress.
"But it is important the three points, and that nobody really (got) injured, for the league and the Champions League.
"Thank you to the supporters who came to support the game and to help us collect all three points."

@071 juju i think all your comments n quesgions are relavant n its games like these where you see championship material from a team where ul play badly n end up winning this is not new to bucs it happend in so many games last season, the positive thing out of this game is that our defence though it was a make shift they defended well n not conceeding is the atmost important thing as long as you do the business on the other side, what i didnt like about leal is his comment after the game whereby he said ntshumayelo only played becoz oupa was not there ,that was uncalled for n what he really means is that ntshumayelo wont be playing as a stater next wednesday

With their players that we've got, we should be dominating our opponents playing good carpet football. I don't like what I saw against Leopards. Too many long balls, no creativity whatsoever, and possession of the ball couldn't be retained for long. Leal needs to do something about this!

I agree with u Muhleful we domin8 local soccer bt ppl cnt b satisfied with ol da winnings dat our team brings, nw Nedbank cup wil b on our happy hands again bt still ppl wil want certain players played instead of dat selected by Leal. We nid 2 suport da rest of da team nt individuals dat we admire nd rememba dat NO 1 is bigger than OP fc. Give that team a Bells!!!

Why did Khoza fire Krol and Hire Leal. If that answer can be answered maybe I'll start taking this Leal guy seriously. Right now he is clearly riding on luck.... Up the Bucs
