Leal Drops Jali & Co!
22 February 2012
Following Orlando Pirates’ shock 3-1 defeat to Angolan side Recreativo de Libolo in the CAF Champions League in Port Elizabeth on Sunday, the Siya crew can reveal that coach Julio Cesar Leal has made a number of changes to his squad that will take on Platinum Stars tonight.
According to Soccer-Laduma sources close to the team, Leal has dropped Andile Jali, Rooi Mahamutsa, Daine Klate and Ndumiso Mabena from the squad traveling to Rustenburg for the Absa Premiership clash. A source added that Njabulo Manqana, Thandani Ntshumayelo, Luis Boa Morte and Lizo Mjempu have replaced the players that have been dropped.
Our informants went on to reveal that changes are likely to be made to the starting line-up although Leal is only expected to announce his team this afternoon. All four of the players that have been dropped started the game on Sunday, with Mahamutsa having netted the consolation goal while Mabena and Klate were substituted.
“We don’t know why the guys have been dropped but Rooi has a muscle problem and I think that could be the reason for his absence. I hear the coach spoke to the guys before he dropped them, whether that was about the reasons for his decision, only he knows,” revealed one source.
Pirates visit Stars in their catch-up game with both Leal and coach Owen da Gama under immense pressure to come out of the fixture with a positive result, as both coaches' future remain in the balance. Watch this space!

Jali's dropping is a blessing to him. It's a wake up call for him. He'll pick up his socks and realize that there's no star in this league and no one is irreplaceable. This will also do Bafana good because he's a regular nominee at Bafana. We love him but casualty & growing a big head will just lead to his downfall. He must take this positively and improve on his performance.
