08 November 2012
Orlando Pirates boss, Irvin Khoza, has been re-elected as the chairman of the NSL after running unopposed for the position.
The Siya crew reported recently that Khoza was expected to be re-elected for his fifth term as chairman of the NSL and now the news has been confirmed.
Meanwhile, the voting has been completed as to who will be a part of the seven-person NSL Executive Committee.
Overal 31 PSL and NFD clubs took part in the voting process, with Vasco da Gama failing to cast their vote for reasons unknown.
Mike Mokoena, John Comitis, Daniel Simelane, Kaizer Motaung, Mato Madlala, Stan Matthews and David Thidiela were the names elected into the EXCO this time around and will now form the committee headed by Khoza.
During the conference Dr Khoza extended his personal welcome to the new EXPO members before congratulating Banyana Banyana on their recent achievement of reaching the AWC finals.
The committee’s main aim is to help improve club football in South Africa and assist the league as it strives to become one of the best in the world.
